本文闡述了利用航天遙感影像進行1 : 25萬地形圖數據庫更新的必要性和可行性，在對spot和landsat遙感影像特性進行分析的基礎上，對航天遙感影像的系統變形、輻射量校正和影像增強與彩色融合等內容進行了認真研究，並在此基礎上對航天遙感影像數字微分糾正、影像融合、地物判讀、數據庫數據格式轉換、基於遙感影像的地形圖修測等方法進行了具體試驗，提出了利用遙感影像進行地形圖修測的具體方法和作業流程。
