歧北凹陷的模擬結果表明，在沙河街組沉積末沙河街組三段就進入晚成巖階段a _ 1期，油氣藏開始形成；在東營組沉積時期晚第三紀，沙河街組大部分地層處于晚成巖階段a _ 1 a _ 2期，生、儲、蓋層發育，是其主要成藏期；現今在歧北凹陷北部沙三段下部進入晚成巖階段b c期，儲層物性較差、不利於成藏，其他層段仍處于晚成巖階段a _ 1 a _ 2期，有利於油氣藏的形成。
