    在過去20年中，寧波傳統歷史街區經歷了快速轉型.新的城市形態取代了傳統城市形態，傳統城市格局遭到了破壞.本文通過對一些特殊歷史街區的分析研究來闡明城市中的保護與更新.以寧波月湖西部地區為例，提出了規劃設計的方法，闡述了其中的一些限制性因素及矛盾與沖突，並以此為例來闡述在此大背景下再現城市活力的重要性.文中運用了2種學習方法:一是通過對資料的學習來獲取理論來源，二是通過現場調研獲取第一手資料.試圖通過對傳統歷史街區在更新過程中的沖突與結果的分析來闡明傳統歷史街區更新和再現活力的情況
