本文從西部邊疆少數民族地區如何發展特色縣域經濟的視角出發，以全國和雲南省的縣域經濟為研究背景，選擇了雲南元謀這個具有農業主導縣特徵、山區縣特徵和獨特「乾熱資源」有特色產業的縣作為研究對象，以實證、對比等統計方法作為研究手段，並以中國縣域經濟競爭力評價指標體系的指標作為參照指標，進行對比、分析和評價。
